Integration guide
Set up AdFrolic in Open VSX
Open VSX distribution is intended for compatible editors that do not use the Visual Studio Marketplace. The listing is being prepared separately from the VS Code Marketplace release.
Before you start
You need an AdFrolic developer account. If you do not have one yet, create an account first. You do not need to create an advertising campaign.
1. Install AdFrolic
Use the command below when the Open VSX integration is available. Copy it exactly as shown.
# Planned Open VSX package ID
# Search your editor's Extensions view for:
AdFrolic2. Connect your AdFrolic account
- 1Open the Extensions view in your Open VSX-compatible editor.
- 2Search for AdFrolic after the listing is published.
- 3Install the extension from the AdFrolic publisher.
- 4Run AdFrolic: Sign In from the command palette.
- 5Approve the browser device code and return to the editor.
3. Check it works
Open Open VSX and make sure the AdFrolic surface appears without an error. If no advert is available, the surface may stay empty. That is normal.
Where ads appear
The installed extension uses only surfaces supported by the host editor. Open VSX is the distribution channel, not a separate advertising surface.
AdFrolic only uses surfaces that the host application supports. We do not inject adverts over your code, prompts or editor content.
What AdFrolic does not read
Not sent to AdFrolic
Source code, open files, prompt text, AI responses, clipboard contents and terminal output.
Used for the integration
Your AdFrolic session, installation ID, supported placement, client version and limited technical context needed to serve and measure an advert.
